The one that matters. Gemmo gives you an estimate, not an appraisal. Do not buy, sell, insure or settle an estate on the strength of a number this app produced. Have anything that matters valued by a qualified appraiser.
What Gemmo is
Gemmo identifies jewellery from a photograph, decodes hallmarks where it can read them, and estimates the melt value of the precious metal using live spot prices. It is an informational tool for people who want a confident starting point.
What Gemmo is not
- Not a certified or insurance appraisal, and not admissible as one.
- Not an authentication service. It cannot prove a piece is genuine, and it will say so rather than guess.
- Not an offer to buy, and not a prediction of what any buyer will pay. Buyers pay under spot.
- Not a valuation of gemstones, brand, provenance or craftsmanship — which are often worth far more than the metal.
Accuracy
Hallmark reading and identification are automated and can be wrong. Weight estimated from a photograph carries a wide range; entering an exact weight narrows it. Spot prices come from a third-party feed and may be delayed. You are responsible for verifying anything you act on.
Subscriptions
Gemmo offers a limited number of free scans, after which Gemmo Premium is required for further scans and for insurance PDF export. Subscriptions are billed through your Apple Account and renew automatically until cancelled. Cancel at least 24 hours before a period ends; cancelling takes effect at the end of the paid period. Any free trial length is stated on the purchase screen at the time you buy. Prices vary by country and are shown in your own currency before purchase. Refunds are handled by Apple under its own policy, not by us.
Acceptable use
Use Gemmo for your own jewellery, or jewellery you are lawfully assessing. Do not use it to misrepresent an item's value to someone else. Do not attempt to extract, resell or rebuild the service from its API traffic.
Liability
Gemmo is provided as-is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss arising from reliance on an estimate — including money lost buying or selling an item. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including your statutory rights as a consumer.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Germany, without affecting mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence.
